In 1815 it was reconsecrated after a profanation about which nothing is known.

The date of this church's foundation is unknown. Its simple plan has led to the suggestion of a Romanesque layout, and therefore the twelfth century, but there is no proof of that hypothesis. What is certain is that the building existed in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, when various enlargement works are documented, and that it reached its present form with a final intervention in 1736.
A reconsecration is documented in 1815, made necessary by a profanation whose nature the records do not state. Between 1960 and 1969 the church was repainted inside and out, and the paint covered almost all the frescoes: only those in the apse semi-dome were saved. Around 1971 the movable furnishings arrived for the liturgical adaptation, and in 1980 a restoration of the structure was carried out.
The façade is gabled, divided into three sections by four pilasters: in each of the two side sections there is a small square window at the bottom, while the central one has a lunette window at the top and the architraved portal, reached by a double flight of eight steps. Above the portal stands a pediment broken into three parts, with spheres and a cross at the apex; the gable is pierced at the top by a hole in the shape of a Latin cross.
