Cima di Val Scura (Gruppo di Brenta)
It is not a single peak: there are three, almost the same height.
The Cima di Val Scura reaches 2,670 metres and lies in the Dolomiti di Brenta, in the western chain of the Sottogruppo della Campa, in the Val di Non and within the Parco naturale Adamello Brenta. It rises at the northern end of that chain, which begins with the Monte Fibbion, and a small notch separates it from the ridge of the Crozara della Campa, also called Cima Termoncello. To the north lies the Val Scura, to the west the Valle di Flavona, and to the east the Cimon della Campa stands out.
Its particular feature is that it does not have a single summit: it is made up of three close peaks, of roughly the same height. You reach it from Malga Arza, at 1,507 metres, following path SAT 330 to Malga Termoncello; after crossing the passo del Termoncello, at 1,856 metres, you enter the Val Strangola and then the Val Scura along SAT 369.
The documented ascents are few and far apart: on 20 May 1909 G. Dassati and T. Molk reached the summit by the west side, on 28 August 1933 F. Deuss and the botanist Karl Mägdefrau climbed the north-east face, and on 29 September 1941 Fulvio and Ivo Bergamo traced a variant on the west side.
