The pieve of Revò is first mentioned in a document of 1128, and it seems that the church was rebuilt in 1323; around 1480 the bell tower was restored. The parish church we see today dates from the early sixteenth century: in 1519 Michael Edelmann von Ulm made the main portal, while the side ones were built in 1558.

In the meantime, in 1534, the largest bell of the tower had been cast; it weighs twenty-nine quintals and in the village it is called Stefana. The presbytery was rebuilt in 1624 and the sacristy enlarged between 1685 and 1688; in 1781 the bell tower, damaged by bad weather, was renovated to a design by Pietro Bianchi from Como.

The flooring of the hall dates from 1889 and at the beginning of the twentieth century the interior was given a new decorative scheme. Among the works of value are the frescoes with the Scene della vita di Santo Stefano, painted in 1910 by Sigismondo Nardi, and the high altar by Giovanni Merlo, placed in the church in 1804.

Today in the valleys

Just a moment...

Gipthe bearded vulture of Valli del Noce

Hi, I am Gip. I am a bearded vulture: my species had vanished from the Alps in the 1930s, and the first one born in Trentino in at least a hundred and fifty years took flight from Val di Rabbi this past 16 July.

Ask me about places, the valleys or the people who work here. I answer with what is in our pages: if I do not know something, I will tell you.

Gip is an assistant based on artificial intelligence. It answers only with the verified facts in our pages. Your questions are processed by Anthropic, in the United States, and we do not keep them: do not write personal data. How we handle them.
