The place of worship of Terzolas is first mentioned at the beginning of the thirteenth century in the Codex Vangianus, the collection that the prince-bishop of Trento Federico Vanga had compiled from 1215; a second written record dates from 1312. In 1710 the church was raised to a curacy of the pieve of Malé, that is, of the church of Santa Maria Assunta.
From 1784 the old building was rebuilt from scratch, by the master masons from Cles Bartolomeo, Francesco and Ignazio Leita, and the work was finished in 1801. Not everything was thrown away: the bell tower remained the same as before, and the apse with the presbytery was reused for the sacristy. The elegant stone portal was carved by the stonecutter Giovanni Zadra.
Once the masonry was complete, the interior was decorated with the stuccoes of Antonio and Leone Casellini and the frescoes of Pietro Paolo dalla Torre. The solemn consecration was celebrated in 1825 by Bishop Francesco Saverio Luschin, and the church became a parish church in 1943.
