Chiesa di San Bartolomeo vecchia
It was founded in 1127 as a hospice for those crossing the Tonale.

The church and the hospice were built in the first half of the twelfth century, in 1127, and had a specific purpose: to offer hospitality to those travelling along the important route that crosses the Tonale pass. At the end of the sixteenth century ownership of the complex passed to the episcopal seminary of Trento, but church and hospice remained leased to the Comune of Vermiglio; a few years later the church could no longer be used for religious services, so poor was its condition.
From the middle of the seventeenth century major works began, which increased the height of the hall's volumes. Then came a difficult period of repeated damage and looting: the first during the Napoleonic invasion, at the hands of French troops, and then two more in 1848 and 1866. From 1870 the church was restored, with the rebuilding of various parts of the structure and of the flooring.
The war of 1914-18 once again severely damaged the whole complex, which was rebuilt in the years immediately after the war: and that rebuilding caused the loss of many of the original structures that still remained. In the second half of the twentieth century church and hospice were separated, even on paper, the former remaining with the parish and the latter passing to municipal property.
