The date of the rebuilding is written above the window of the bell tower.

The church of Bozzana is first mentioned in a document of 1384, and in the second half of the following century the building was enriched with a cycle of frescoes, which has largely been lost. The small church was no longer large enough for the faithful and was rebuilt in 1528: that date can still be read above the single-light window on the front of the bell chamber.
The records of the pastoral visit of 1537 by the prince-bishop of Trento Bernardo Clesio mention it. Eighty years later, with the visit of 1617, the church was enlarged and, on the precise instructions of the diocesan envoys, the frescoed parts of the choir were whitewashed. The visit of 1672 ordered a renovation, which can be considered to have been carried out by 1694, when a new altar was solemnly consecrated.
The baptismal font and the tabernacle for the Eucharist arrived by 1735, and twelve years later the church was raised to the status of curacy of the pieve of Livo. It became a parish church in 1959, although it had already been performing the functions of one for some time.
