The church of Celledizzo appears for the first time in a document of 1319. In the fifteenth century the original building was rebuilt and enlarged, and in 1409 it became a curacy of the pieve of Malé, that is, of the church of Santa Maria Assunta. The solemn consecration was celebrated in 1497, and immediately afterwards work began on the decorative enrichment attributed to the Baschenis family.
The pastoral visit of 1617 asked for the place of worship to be enlarged to meet the needs of the faithful of Celledizzo: the building site opened two years later and closed in 1621, lengthening the nave and enlarging the presbytery. At the beginning of the nineteenth century came another enlargement with the new sacristy, and in the last decade of the century the bell tower was rebuilt from scratch.
In 1914 Pietro Stefano Salvetti decorated the presbytery with his frescoes, and on 9 May 1919 the church was raised to the status of parish church. The liturgical adaptation of 1969 created the altar table facing the people by partly dismantling the historic high altar, while the eucharistic tabernacle has remained in its original tabernacle.
