Rifugio Alpenrose
Hikers' refuge above San Lorenzo in Banale, where the Prada pastures loop begins.
The refuge stands just above a thousand metres, above San Lorenzo in Banale, the village that since 2015 has been the seat of the municipality of San Lorenzo Dorsino, formed by the merger with Dorsino. It can be reached by car in a quarter of an hour from the village, leaving the car just before the building. From here the Prada loop begins: you climb through the woods along the old sledge road, a forestry track of the Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta that once served to bring the hay from the mountain pastures down to the valley, until the woods open onto wide meadows, with a view of the mountains around San Lorenzo and Molveno. Following the wooden posts you reach a viewpoint from which the lake of Molveno can be seen far below; a steep descent through the woods then leads to the small Dorsini bivouac.
