It is one of the few damp valley-floor woods left in the Val di Sole: about 28 hectares along the Noce, in the municipalities of Croviana and Dimaro Folgarida, at an average altitude of 725 metres, protected as a Special Area of Conservation (IT3120117) and part of the Rete di riserve Alto Noce. Alders, willows and ash trees form the belt along the river; the core is a small wood that has grown up in an old closed meander of the Noce, crossed by a stream where marble trout and bullhead breed. Among the birds are the white-throated dipper, the golden oriole and the red-backed shrike; among the plants, the rare Ranunculus prosserii. You can get there on foot or by bike from the cycle and pedestrian path of the valley.
