Lago Smeraldo
The artificial lake at Fondo, at 1001 metres, green like its name among the woods of the upper Val di Non
Lago Smeraldo is a small artificial lake at 1001 metres, just outside Fondo, in the municipality of Borgo d'Anaunia, in the upper Val di Non. The name comes from the colour of the water, green and still among the fir trees, and the walk around the shore takes a few minutes on foot: from here walks lead to the Rio Sass canyon and to the village, and in summer it is the place where Fondo comes to look for shade.
