Cima Loverdina

In the local dialect it is called Bastiot.

Cima Loverdina reaches 2,237 metres and stands in the western chain of the Sottogruppo della Campa, in the Val di Non, within the Parco naturale Adamello Brenta. It has the shape of a broad, green ridge rising between the meadows of Malga Termoncello, to the west, and the Valle degli Inferni, to the east. In the local dialect it is also called Bastiot.

Its two sides are nothing alike: towards the malga the mountain slopes down through meadows and mountain pine woods, while towards the Inferni it drops away in a high rocky step. From the summit, where there is a cross, the view is extremely wide and opens onto the Val di Tovel and its lake, the whole of the Val di Non and a large part of the mountains of Trentino-Alto Adige.

From Malga Termoncello, at 1,852 metres, it is easily reached in an hour. The traverse to the Passo degli Inferni, on the other hand, is fairly demanding: from the summit you descend to the right as far as a spur, from which you go down the steep face before continuing along the path.

Today in the valleys

Just a moment...

Gipthe bearded vulture of Valli del Noce

Hi, I am Gip. I am a bearded vulture: my species had vanished from the Alps in the 1930s, and the first one born in Trentino in at least a hundred and fifty years took flight from Val di Rabbi this past 16 July.

Ask me about places, the valleys or the people who work here. I answer with what is in our pages: if I do not know something, I will tell you.

Gip is an assistant based on artificial intelligence. It answers only with the verified facts in our pages. Your questions are processed by Anthropic, in the United States, and we do not keep them: do not write personal data. How we handle them.
