Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta
In Cloz the two districts are also called by the names of their churches.

Cloz is made up of two neighbouring centres that form a single settlement, and which are sometimes distinguished by the names of their respective churches, Santo Stefano and Santa Maria. The latter stands in the district of Villa di fuori and was built later than the other, around the 14th century; the exact date is not known, and the first mention is in a will of 1458. The solemn consecration of the church and its altars was celebrated in 1500 by the suffragan bishop of Trento, Francesco De la Chiesa.
In the second half of the 15th century it was almost certainly decorated with frescoes, and those frescoes have had an eventful history. During the pastoral visit of 1616 the prince-bishop Carlo Gaudenzio Madruzzo ordered that the church be enlarged; work began quickly and by 1617 it could be considered complete, and it was on that occasion that the frescoes were whitewashed. They came to light again and were restored only in 1927.
The bell tower was erected around 1688, and the date is carved into the wall of the structure. In the early years of the 20th century its roofing was replaced with special cement panels; in the 1920s, during consolidation work and the revision of the plasterwork, Carlo Donati was called in to enrich the interior with wall paintings.
