The first mention of the church of Caltron is in a document of 1328, but it is not until a pastoral visit in 1616 that a source records its dedication. Between 1648 and 1649 it underwent a complete restoration, which nevertheless kept almost the whole of the original structure, and the solemn consecration was celebrated on 5 September 1672. The flooring was entirely redone in 1734, and a last restoration was carried out between 1998 and 2002.
The façade has a gabled profile, with the stone portal in a central position, a square window on the left and, above, a round-arched niche housing a sculpture, surmounted by a splayed oculus. The apse has a polygonal outline and the body of the nave projects slightly beyond that of the presbytery.
The bell tower is not a separate tower: it is a small turret set at the top of the roof, in a forward position, with a square wooden shaft and a bell chamber opened by four round-arched single-light windows. It is covered by a square pyramid of larch shingles, with the cross on top.
