Chiesa di Santa Caterina in Colle
The apse was painted by Simone Baschenis in the mid-sixteenth century.

This church was built before the pastoral visit of Cardinal Bernardo Clesio in 1537. In the mid-sixteenth century Simone Baschenis decorated its apse, and in the following century the façade gained a porch protecting the north entrance. In the nineteenth century that porch and the entrance itself were demolished, and only a window was left in their place.
In 1859 the church was desecrated, and in 1877 it was damaged by the fire that struck the whole village of Vermiglio: once the restoration work was completed, it was blessed in 1879 and services resumed. The First World War caused it considerable damage, and many parts of the building were restored in the post-war period; a final restoration, at the end of the twentieth century, involved both the interior and the exterior.
