It rose where a small oratory of the Reformed Friars once stood, of which little is known: an altar of it, erected by the confraternity of the Carmine, was consecrated on 19 August 1649. The church had been designed since 1682, the building work began in 1686 and came to an end only in 1718, with the roof already laid in 1695.

The stucco decorations are by Filippo Boni of Como, between 1718 and 1723. The frescoes were painted by Marino Dalla Torre, from Mezzana, and therefore from these valleys: the nave in 1723, the presbytery between 1739 and 1740, and the Stations of the Cross outside between 1733 and 1739. The consecration came on 3 August 1742.

Today in the valleys

Just a moment...

Gipthe bearded vulture of Valli del Noce

Hi, I am Gip. I am a bearded vulture: my species had vanished from the Alps in the 1930s, and the first one born in Trentino in at least a hundred and fifty years took flight from Val di Rabbi this past 16 July.

Ask me about places, the valleys or the people who work here. I answer with what is in our pages: if I do not know something, I will tell you.

Gip is an assistant based on artificial intelligence. It answers only with the verified facts in our pages. Your questions are processed by Anthropic, in the United States, and we do not keep them: do not write personal data. How we handle them.
