Before this one there was another place of worship, founded around 1350 and originally dedicated to Mary, which from 1576 was served by the local confraternity of San Rocco. It stood near the town hospital, and in 1824 it was completely destroyed by arson: it was then that the members of the confraternity had to ask for the space to rebuild the church where it stands today.
The present building was commissioned by the dean of Cles Francesco Candotti and completed in 1880. Since the middle of the twentieth century it has been the subject of several conservation restoration works, and in 1981 the façade was decorated with an image of San Rocco, set in the large lunette above the portal.
The façade has a large tympanum above that lunette, and the portal is reached by three steps. One side is not visible in full, because it is partly adjoined to a private house, while the other opens onto the street; the bell tower is small and rises from the roof of the front part of the building. Inside there is a single nave, with a barrel vault.
