The first church dedicated to San Nicolò in Termenago was solemnly consecrated in 1450 by Friar Albertino da Tridino, suffragan bishop of Trento. In the early sixteenth century it was probably the subject of work on its structure and was consecrated again in 1521; between 1580 and 1586 the sacristy and the presbytery were enlarged to make room for a new altar, and in 1586 a third consecration was celebrated. In 1606 it was granted the status of curacy, subsidiary to the pieve of Ossana.
In the second half of the twentieth century, for traffic reasons, the old façade and part of the front nave were pulled down. The reconstruction was completed in 1961, reusing the old portal that had been removed.
The church is no longer in use: its role as parish church had already passed, a century earlier, to the new church built a short distance away.
