Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo
It stands where, not far away, the ancient pieve of Mezzocorona once stood.

The cemetery church of Mezzocorona was completed in 1722 on the Doss San Michele, where the community's graveyard lies. According to Paolo Dalla Torre, the church is the work of craftsmen originally from Como, and the site is said to have been chosen because the ancient pieve of Mezzocorona once stood a short distance away: not just any place, but the one from which the community had set out.
Around 1821 the shrines of the Via Crucis were built along the road leading to the graveyard and the little church. In the first half of the nineteenth century work was needed to secure the vault, which was at risk of collapsing, and from 1878 the roof covering had to be reviewed, as water was seeping through and damaging the interior.
In the 1920s the building was repainted, and in the following decade Matteo Tevini repainted the stations of the Via Crucis, which were blessed in 1937 once the work was finished.
