Chiesa di San Martino
For two years it was the seat of the Compagnia dei Battuti.

The cemetery church of Vervò was built in the 14th century, and during that period it was for two years the seat of the Compagnia dei Battuti. Around the middle of the 15th century the bell tower was decorated with a large fresco depicting Saint Christopher and the Infant Jesus, and the bell was cast at the same time.
In the 16th century the old church was partly demolished in order to build the new one on the same site; it was completed around the middle of the century, when the decoration of its presbytery area also began. It was consecrated in 1558 by the suffragan bishop Mariano Manno. In the 18th century the flooring was renovated, and a century later another restoration followed.
In the 20th century the church attracted the interest of thieves several times, who stole paintings and wooden statues from it; for this reason, since 1976 it has been fitted with electrical wiring and an anti-theft system. It does not stand alone: it is part of a complex that also includes the chapel of Santi Fabiano e Sebastiano, the chapel of the Sepolcro, the cemetery and a Via Crucis.
