The small church of Presson was built in 1626 and is first mentioned in documents in 1629. It received its eucharistic tabernacle a few years later, in 1633, and in 1672 it was consecrated with a solemn ceremony by Sigismondo Alfonso Thun, prince-bishop of Trento: the same family that had extended its domains from the Val di Non over much of the valli del Noce.

In the last decade of the 17th century the church was enlarged with a new chapel on an octagonal plan, built next to the main hall. In the second half of the 20th century the lunette above the portal received a renewed painting.

The most recent major work dates from 1994: the roof covering was rebuilt starting from the timber framing, with new wooden shingles, and the masonry structures of the chapel were reinforced and covered in copper.

Today in the valleys

Just a moment...

Gipthe bearded vulture of Valli del Noce

Hi, I am Gip. I am a bearded vulture: my species had vanished from the Alps in the 1930s, and the first one born in Trentino in at least a hundred and fifty years took flight from Val di Rabbi this past 16 July.

Ask me about places, the valleys or the people who work here. I answer with what is in our pages: if I do not know something, I will tell you.

Gip is an assistant based on artificial intelligence. It answers only with the verified facts in our pages. Your questions are processed by Anthropic, in the United States, and we do not keep them: do not write personal data. How we handle them.
