Chiesa della Madonna del Carmine
It was consecrated when the bell tower was not yet finished.

The small church was founded in the fourteenth century, and the frescoes inside, which have survived only in part, date from that first period. In the seventeenth century a major restoration led to an almost complete rebuilding, and as soon as that work was finished the solemn consecration took place: the work on the bell tower, however, was not yet complete.
In the nineteenth century the roof, damaged by a very heavy snowfall, had to be repaired, and the parts struck by a fire had to be put right. From the final years of the twentieth century until 2006 a further series of conservation restorations rebuilt the roof, redid the paintwork inside and out, cleaned the marble parts and installed new large stained-glass windows; and it made it possible to recover, in part, earlier and ancient Romanesque structures.
