Castel Placeri
Three palaces and a garden in 1380, a ruin in 1774, houses in the 1920s.
Nothing remains of the medieval castle of Rumo, and we include it all the same: even a lost castle tells how this side valley was defended and inhabited. Information is scarce. The first record dates from 1323, when it belonged to the lords of Rumo; a description of 1380 says that it had at least three palaces and a garden.
At the end of the 14th century it was bought by Pietro and Finamante di Caldes, and it stayed in their family until 1464, when all the Caldes properties, castle included, passed to the Thun. Then it lost importance and was abandoned: in the view in the Atlas Tyrolensis of 1774 it is already a ruin, and it remained so until the 20th century. In the 1920s the last remains were demolished to make room for private houses.
