Castel Malgolo
Half medieval fortress, half romantic residence.

It stands along the road between Romeno and its hamlet Malgolo, amid greenery, and has two faces: the medieval fortress and the romantic residence, with corner towers and a series of seventeenth-century windows. At the origin there was only a tower, the Torre Grande.
It appears in 1342 as a fortified house of the lords of Coredo, let out for rent. In 1425 it was sold by the notary Nicolò di Fondo, of a cadet branch of the Malosco, and passed to the Concini di Casez, who extended and transformed it over the centuries; later it passed by inheritance to the de Betta.
At the end of the nineteenth century it was close to ruin. In 1891 it was bought by Baron and General Raffaele de Concini, the same man who in those years sold Castel Casez, and he restored it at great expense until 1914. After his death his wife sold it to Count Camillo Premoli of Cremona, who continued the works; in recent years the Premoli have handed it over to heirs of the Concini, the family that had held it for centuries. It is a private residence and can only be seen from outside.
