Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta

The largest protected area in Trentino: Adamello-Presanella and Dolomiti di Brenta, between the Val di Non, the Val di Sole and the Giudicarie.

Established in 1967 with the first provincial urban plan, it was, together with Paneveggio Pale di San Martino, one of the first two provincial parks in Italy. It extends over about 620 square kilometres in western Trentino and includes the Adamello-Presanella and Brenta groups, separated by the Val Rendena, between 477 metres and the 3,558 metres of the Presanella. It has over 80 lakes, including Lake Tovel, and the Adamello glacier; the idea of the park also arose to protect the last population of brown bear in the Alps, and the bear is still present there. It is a UNESCO geopark and the Brenta group is part of the Dolomites World Heritage Site.

Today in the valleys

Just a moment...

Gipthe bearded vulture of Valli del Noce

Hi, I am Gip. I am a bearded vulture: my species had vanished from the Alps in the 1930s, and the first one born in Trentino in at least a hundred and fifty years took flight from Val di Rabbi this past 16 July.

Ask me about places, the valleys or the people who work here. I answer with what is in our pages: if I do not know something, I will tell you.

Gip is an assistant based on artificial intelligence. It answers only with the verified facts in our pages. Your questions are processed by Anthropic, in the United States, and we do not keep them: do not write personal data. How we handle them.
