Cima Stubele
The third peak of the Maddalene, and it can be reached without mountaineering difficulties.
Cima Stubele reaches 2,671 metres and is the third highest peak of the Maddalene group, behind only cima Tuatti and the Punta di Quaira. It stands on the border between the province of Trento and that of Bolzano and is an important orographic junction, because the valleys of Clapa, Lavazzè and Monte d'Ora meet at its foot.
From the summit cross the panorama sweeps all the way round: the Val di Non with the Monte Ozol and the Monte Roen, the Val d'Ultimo with the countless peaks of the Ortles-Cevedale group in the background, and then from the Marmolada to the Adamello Brenta group.
The most popular route starts from Mocenigo, in the Val di Non. From there you go as far as the locality of Fontane, where the forest track begins that leads to malga Lavazzè, at 1,639 metres; a little further on you turn right onto a steep path, at first through the woods, which climbs to malga Masa Murada, at 2,046. You continue westwards along path 134, which skirts the lago Poinella and reaches the passo della Siromba at 2,407 metres, and then along the ridge to the summit. There are no particular mountaineering difficulties.
