Cima Sternai
From the Val di Rabbi it is 2,000 metres of ascent in a single climb.

Cima Sternai, in German Hintere Eggenspitze, reaches 3,443 metres and belongs to the Ortles-Cevedale group, in the southern Rhaetian Alps. It stands exactly on the line that divides Trentino from Alto Adige, at the point where the Val di Rabbi, the Val d'Ultimo and the Val Martello meet.
Our side is not the easiest. The climb starts from the rifugio Silvio Dorigoni, in the upper val Saént, and the route stays easy as far as the SAT hut before becoming demanding in the second part. Starting from Collér, the total ascent is 2,062 metres, which falls to 1,854 by using the Parco nazionale dello Stelvio shuttle as far as malga Stablasól.
From the Alto Adige side the climb is gentler and usually starts from the lago di Fontana Bianca, at the foot of an alpine cirque that Cima Sternai forms together with Cima Gioveretto and Cima Fontana Bianca.
