The church of Strombiano was built in 1706 and decorated inside with stucco; in 1820 it was enlarged. The first blessing is dated 13 June 1822, but after a general restoration the church was blessed again on 16 July 1905. The bell tower dates from 1936, and the latest general restoration work was carried out in 1992.

It stands squeezed between the houses, which is its most evident feature: on the east side the bell tower and the sacristy abut it, on the west side a private dwelling. The façade has a quatrefoil opening above the lintelled portal, between two small arched windows.

Inside, the nave is divided into two bays and is covered by a groin-vaulted barrel vault; the presbytery is raised by one step and has a sail vault decorated with stucco.

Today in the valleys

Just a moment...

Gipthe bearded vulture of Valli del Noce

Hi, I am Gip. I am a bearded vulture: my species had vanished from the Alps in the 1930s, and the first one born in Trentino in at least a hundred and fifty years took flight from Val di Rabbi this past 16 July.

Ask me about places, the valleys or the people who work here. I answer with what is in our pages: if I do not know something, I will tell you.

Gip is an assistant based on artificial intelligence. It answers only with the verified facts in our pages. Your questions are processed by Anthropic, in the United States, and we do not keep them: do not write personal data. How we handle them.
